What's been happening at Oakland Estate
At the end of April, the long-awaited Brodie's Chicken and Burgers opened its doors in Beaudesert. This is a locally owned enterprise, and the owner is looking forward to bringing good family food to Beaudesert!
Following excellent trade results after the first month of operation, the Caltex at Oakland Estate has is now pleased to be opened for 24/7 operation - one of the first facilities in Beaudesert to do so. Residents now have access to 24/7 convenience!
The Australian Rail Track Corporation has purchased an 850 hectare swathe of land adjacent to SCT's brand new intermodal freight transport hub. This is another vote of confidence for the importance of the State Development Area.
McAuley College in Beaudesert is a brand new Catholic High School that will open doors to inaugural students at the start of the school year in 2017. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, who also operate two other schools local to the area - Beaudesert's St. Mary's Primary School and All Saints' School, Boonah, the school is named for the Order's founder, Catherine McAuley. The school will educate their students based around their core values of faith, justice, love and wisdom, in an inclusive and friendly environment.
Construction at McAuley College is well underway, with many buildings and pathways taking shape rapidly as the hard-working staff prepare to welcome their very first cohort of students to the school. For a sneak-preview, feel free to visit either http://www.mcauley.qld.edu.au, or our Facebook page (Oakland Estate) to see a drone flyover of the site as of October.
